BANDUNG - PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenhub) launched the digital navigation application "Maps Explore the Archipelago".
This application was built as a guide for people who travel overland in the territory of Indonesia with a number of features that make it easy for users to find travel routes and various information that is most needed.
Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadimeng said, "The map of digital navigation has become a public need for road users and maps in printed sheets are now being abandoned because digital map maps are indeed more flexible in their use, various information can also be included without worrying about available space .
"The Ministry of Transportation appreciates the collaboration with XL Axiata and other government agencies for the development of this Archipelago Exploration Map application. Hopefully it can benefit the wider community," he said.
Meanwhile, Director General of Land Transportation, Budi Setiyadi added, the Nusantara Exploration Map application was intentionally launched at the time of Lebaran homecoming to add to the reference of the people who needed navigation facilities to return to their hometown or simply fill a long holiday.
"What distinguishes this application from existing navigation applications is the amount of additional information needed during the trip, such as the existence and info about the mudik post, health posts, terminals to information about accident-prone areas and alternative routes," he explained.
XL Axiata's Chief Human Capital, Rudy Afandi, stated that the Nusantara Roaming Map application was the result of a follow-up of the collaboration between the two parties in digitizing Ministry of Transportation service information to the public.
"We are ready to support further development efforts because there is still a need to improve this application so that it is richer with the information and data needed by road users," he said.
Information and data presented in the application of Archipelago Roaming Maps is official data that has been updated from a number of agencies related to transportation services (Ministry of Transportation), Health (Ministry of Health), road facilities and infrastructure (Bina Marga, Ministry of PUPR), and security and order (Korlantas Polri).
