West Java Deputy Governor Hopes that BJB Bank will Continue to Innovate

BANDUNG CITY- Deputy Governor of West Java Uu Ruzhanul Ulum asked PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah West Java and Banten, Tbk. (Bank bjb) to contribute to improving the economy and welfare of the people of West Java via its programs.

"Bjb must be able to become the leverage and driving force for improving the welfare of the people of West Java," he said in commemoration of the 58th bjb Bank Anniversary at the bjb Head Office, Bandung, Monday (05/20/2019).

Uu Ruzhanul also hopes that Bank BJB will be able to produce innovations that directly touch the economic condition of the community. That way, Human Resources and partnerships can be the main keys to the existence of Bank BJB in the world of national and global banking.

"I hope that in the future bjb must be able to issue and make even greater innovations," he said.

The bank, which was established on May 20, 1961, was originally a Dutch government-owned bank called the Bank of West Java Regional Development. Bank BJB underwent several name changes until finally PT West Java and Banten Regional Development Banks, Tbk. selected.

It was noted that the assets of the regional development bank amounted to Rp 117 trillion. At the age of 58, Bank BJB had become a national open company and was listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).

Bank Director of Finance and Risk Management bjb, Nia Kania, said that his party would not be complacent and would continue to innovate to expand, even though the assets owned had touched hundreds of trillions.

"Bank BJB is always committed to participating in advancing the nation by continuing to be present in the community through a strategy that focuses on achieving sustainable business growth," he said.

This is in line with the vision of Bank BJB as a driver of the pace of the regional economy. BJB Bank will continue to synergize with the regional government and BUMD in West Java and Banten in order to soar the regional economy.

"These include financing the regional infrastructure sector, empowering BUMDes, partnership programs in people's business lending, and synergizing BPR and MFIs, as well as financing the MSME sector by launching several programs," he said.

So far, Bank BJB has been involved in several West Java Provincial Government programs such as One Village One Company (OVOC), One Pesantren One Product (OPOP), Mesra bjb credit, and Desa Juara program.

In the national development sector, Bank BJB participated in national scale projects, such as toll road construction, new port construction projects, drinking water supply projects, and dam and irrigation network development projects.

In order to adjust to the era of digital technology in the banking industry, Bank BJB is also working to optimize digital marketing. One of them is through the development of mobile banking products that are more user friendly, self service banking machine, and share other products.

At the height of the 58th anniversary celebration, Bank BJB held a joint iftar and compensation for 1,500 orphans and poor people. Also present were Chairperson of Commission III of West Java Provincial Parliament Wawan Setiawan, Deputy Mayor of Bandung Yana Mulyana, and representatives of West Java and Banten District / City governments.
