Three Efforts to Strengthen BIJB Kertajati

JAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said that there were three efforts made by the government to strengthen Kertajati West Java International Airport (BIJB) in Majalengka Regency.

In addition to hajj and Umrah flights, and the transfer of 12 flight routes outside Java-Bali from Bandung's Husein Sastranegara Airport to Kertajati Airport, the Governor also revealed that Kertajati Airport will receive capital participation from PT Angkasa Pura II.

He said this, when met after a meeting related to BIJB Kertajati at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Jakarta, Thursday (05/16/19).

"The BIJB meeting discussed the capital participation of Angkasa Pura II. Secondly, about the transfer of flight routes outside Java-Bali (from Bandung's Husein Sastranegara Airport to Kertajati Airport), and hajj flights," said Emil - Ridwan Kamil's nickname.

"Three positive news will strengthen BIJB Kertajati," he continued.

PT Angkasa Pura II is a shareholder and operator at Kertajati Airport. The plan for the capital participation scheme, AP II will provide around 25% of the shares or equivalent to IDR 625 billion and will be converted into shares.

From this capital participation, BIJB will use the operating cost ceiling.

Since January 2018 until now AP II has become an operator at Kertajati Airport. In addition, in terms of investment, AP II has also financed a 500-meter runway extension.
