JAKARTA - Cirebon-Patimban-Kertajati Golden Triangle or better known as Rebana is projected to be a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) spread across Indonesia. This was stated by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil after a meeting with Coordinating Minister for Economy Darmin Nasution at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Jakarta, Thursday (05/16/2019).
According to Emil - thus Ridwan Kamil was addressed -, the Central Government via the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs welcomed the Rebana proposal as a KEK. "Alhamdulillah, today we first presented the proposed economic zone specifically for the Rebana region and was welcomed by the Coordinating Minister for Economy, Mr. Darmin Nasution," he said.
Emil also said that the Provincial Government (Pemdaprov) would make detailed planning within three months. Later, he continued, Rebana will be made of various export-oriented and competitiveness industrial zones.
"So, the area (Super KEK Rebana) is very large in which there are industrial zones that can get export-import tax exemption facilities, and so on," he said.
"With industry conditions, it is an export-oriented industry and has high competitiveness. And this will be the largest SEZ area in Indonesia," he continued.
The initial stage of development was to encourage companies around the Citarum River Basin to move to Rebana. Until now, Emil said, there were eleven zones ready to become part of Rebana.
"There are eleven zones ready for the area. Surely we will get together and plan to move most (companies) in Citarum to Rebana," he concluded.
