    20th July 2019, For the First Time Flying West Java Pilgrimage from BIJB


    BANDUNG, (05/13/2029) - Regional Secretary of West Java Province Iwa Karniwa said the first departure of pilgrims from the West Java International Airport, Kertajati, Majalengka Regency, will be held on July 20, 2019.

    "The first departure of the pilgrims (from Kertajati Airport) was on July 20, 2019. It was pilgrims from five regions, namely from Cirebon City, Indramayu Regency, Kuningan and Majalengka," said Iwa Karniwa, after chairing a Discussion Meeting on Hajj Departure from Kertajati Airport, in Gedung Sate Bandung, Monday.

    He claimed to have ordered the West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion to prepare everything related to the planned hajj departure plan from Kertajati Airport.

    "So the West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion was ordered by the Minister and the Director General to prepare everything including the matter of the hajj dormitory," said Iwa.

    Hajj dormitory for pilgrims who depart from Kertajati Airport, he said, will be in the city of Cirebon.

    "God willing, the hajj hostel will probably be in Cirebon. It has been surveyed one year before and the conclusion from Kemenang at the hotel. That is because the facilities are adequate. There is one hotel, in Cirebon and only 45 minutes to Kertajati," he said.

    In addition, continued Iwa, the West Java Provincial Government is also taking steps regarding the departure of the Hajj from Kertajati Airport.

    "So I asked Pak Daud Achmad (Asda I West Java Regional Secretary) and the Head of the Regional Office of the West Java Ministry of Religion to take steps, who did what was in the process," he said.

    He further said the West Java Provincial Government also ordered the directors of PT BIJB to complete all the requirements related to the pilgrimage departure plan from this airport.

    "Including the avtur preparedness there, the information was ready with Pertamina so we will monitor it again later," he said.
