BANDUNG - West Java International Airport BIKB Kertajati has the potential to become a cargo hub in Indonesia. Business Development Director of PT Jasa Angkasa Semesta JAS, Sigit Muhartono said that with a strategic location in the middle of Indonesia, cargo distribution would be easier. This was revealed by Sigit after a collaboration meeting on the plan to use BIJB as an airport cargo, in the Pakuan Building, Friday (05/10/2019).
"Just look at the location of the airport now. It is like in the middle of Indonesia so people will think that the place has the potential to become a cargo hub for Indonesia," he said.
But Sigit said that goods that can be transported are of course goods that can be transported by air or by aircraft that have limitations.
"Yes, I underline here, we are talking about cargo that can be carried flying. Of course, that has limited size and quantity," said Sigit,
According to Sigit, the big potential is the products of domestic and foreign e-commers, which are now in trend.
"Now the traffic of e-commers products is very high. So that people or expedition companies will find a strategic place to make it the hub of their goods or products before being distributed to various peloksok" concluded Sigit.
The meeting in Pakuan Building was attended by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil and PT Pos Indonesia Managing Director Gilarsi W Setiono. (Even)
