BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government will hold the International Conference on Creative Economy at the Grand Mercure Bandung Hotel and the West Hall of Gedung Sate, Jalan Diponegoro, Bandung, Thursday - Friday (2-3 / 5/19).
This international event will be attended by 18 ambassadors of friendly countries, 20 provinces, 8 ministries, 250 participants from 27 cities / regencies of West Java, as well as practitioners, academics and activists from Indonesia and abroad.
"This is an event that was held for the first time in West Java and will be routinely held every year as a calendar of events for the economic creative of West Java," said Head of West Java Pariwsata and Culture Service Dedi Taufik, Tuesday (04/30/19).
Dedi explained why this international event was so important to be initiated by the West Java Provincial Government. According to him, West Java residents, especially millennials and generation Z, have tremendous enthusiasm for developing the creative economy.
Of the 16 creative economy sub-sectors released by the Creative Economy Agency, said Dedi, almost all of them were in West Java and were able to contribute significant foreign exchange to the country, especially in the fields of culinary, fashion and craft.
"The West Java Provincial Government is seriously developing a creative economy, not just a mere slogan but proven by several programs, including this international conference," explained Dedi.
The leaders of change in the creative economy will be speakers such as West Java Governor Mr Ridwan Kamil, Head of the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency Triawan Munaf, Kenneth Cobonpue from the Philippines, Emily Ong from Singapore, Jia-Ping Lee from Malaysia, Imhathai Kunjina from Thailand, Daniel Donnelly / Camelia Harahap / Malaya Del Rosario from the British Council, Hirokazu Nagata from Japan, and Arief Budiman from Rumah Sanur Indonesia.
Head of the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of the Java Provincial Secretariat Hermansyah added, the two-day program will also be filled with a welcoming dinner on Thursday (2/5/19) night at Gedung Sate West Hall. "The Governor of West Java as the host will hand over 13 gift plaques to the West Java creative center network to elected regents / mayors," Hermansyah said.
"Aside from being a speaker, the Governor will also open the event," Hermansyah added. (*)
