    Basic Needs for Fasting and Eid Already Sufficient

    BANDUNG - Head of West Java Province Food and Livestock Security Agency Koesmayadi Tatang said that egg consumption needs during the Ramadan holy month of 2019 in West Java reached 56,602 tons.

    "The prediction of egg needs during the fasting month and Eid al-Fitr this year or for 40 days is the availability of 20,102 tons, the needs of 56,602 tons so desifit 33,514 tons," Koesmayadi Tatang said. / 4/2019).

    He said that related to the egg commodity deficit, his party would focus on the egg trade system and some time ago it would carry out this commodity trading procedure with the Bandung City Government.

    He said that the city of Bandung is the region that consumes the highest eggs, reaching 120 tons per day.

    "The city of Bandung has the highest increase in demand because there are many pastry makers during the fasting month later. So this is not for daily food consumption," he said.

    The West Java Provincial Government, continued Koesmayadi, will directly connect the Bandung City Government and the central breeder of laying hens in Ciamis Regency related to the high demand for domestic chicken eggs during the fasting month.

    He further said that ahead of fasting, the pastries and biscuit industry players were spurring their production and one of the ingredients needed was chicken eggs.

    "That is because the baking and biscuit industry factories are spurring their production. The price we monitor every day, broiler eggs range between IDR 20 thousand per kilo until now crawling up in the range of IDR 23 thousand per kilo," he said.

    Tatang added that in general the stock of basic necessities for fasting and Eid in West Java was sufficient. (Even)
