Check Election Readiness, Governor Video Conference with Mayor and Regent

BANDUNG - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil held a video or video conference with 27 heads of districts / cities throughout West Java to check the voting readiness of the 2019 Election which will be held on Wednesday (04/17/19).

The videoconference took place at the Video Conference Room, Gedung Sate, Jalan Diponegoro, Bandung, Tuesday (04/16/19). The videoconference was also attended by other elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) such as the Chairperson of the West Java DPRD, Head of the West Java High Prosecutor's Office, Chair of the Bandung High Court, Siliwangi Regional Military Command, and West Java Regional Police.

"27 video conferences were interviewed for two hours to ensure. First, the distribution of the maghrib ballots, God willing, was reached 100 percent. Then there was no significant monitoring of the security situation, except anticipating the weather which caused some constraints, especially those areas that had the potential to flood," said the Governor .

According to Emil, Ridwan Kamil's nickname, for flood areas such as the Bandung Regency, the local KPU has prepared a replacement polling station. Problems in Bogor Regency have also been resolved. While in Tasikmalaya Regency, continued Emil, boats have also been prepared if there are weather constraints.

"Transportation is also prepared. Because we leave not only during the implementation but also the transportation of ballot boxes not to be damaged and become a problem in West Java," Emil said.

As for voter participation, Emil revealed that the average city and regency targets participation rates above 70 percent, some even up to 83 percent. "Hopefully the highest level of community participation in West Java is in Indonesia," he hoped.

In order to prevent friction and maintain conducivity, Emil asked the local government to maintain the houses of worship so that they were in line with their worship activities, without any mix of things that were of practical political nature.

"And God willing, I pray that everything will go smoothly and the participation rate will be high. Don't turn abstinence, don't let it be disappointed tomorrow, it will be regret in the future," he said.
