West Java Regional Secretary Asks Construction Consultants to Improve Qualifications in Supporting West Java Strategic Projects

BANDUNG - West Java Provincial Secretary (West Java Regional Secretary) Iwa Karniwa asked construction consultants to improve their qualifications and quality so that various infrastructure projects could contribute to West Java's economic growth rate (LPE).

This was stated by West Java Regional Secretary Iwa Karniwa when giving a presentation in front of construction consultants who were members of the West Java Indonesia Consultation Services Association (Perkindo) III and Perkindo Jabar DPD Seminar at Aston Tropicana Hotel, Bandung, Thursday (4/4 / 19).

According to Iwa, consultants must improve the quality of their work in terms of construction management involving planning and supervision. "This is important to be done to accelerate the construction of several infrastructure projects in West Java," Iwa said.

Iwa said that in West Java there are currently 11 toll road construction projects, four railroad infrastructure projects, one airport project, and two harbor projects. "Then followed by dams and eight irrigation projects, six other projects," he said.

If the various projects are carried out with the services of a construction consultant that is increasingly being felt, then Iwa said, West Java's economic growth could increase significantly. Recorded West Java 2018 LPE reached 5.64 percent above the national average. "Alhamdulillah in West Java, 2018 has the largest economic growth, above the national average of 5.17 percent," continued Iwa.

Iwa admitted, the biggest supporting factor in West Java LPE was still held by the manufacturing sector, which amounted to 42.16 percent. But the construction service sector cannot be underestimated because it contributes 8.44 percent.

According to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics in 2019, currently the construction service sector continues to grow positively, especially because it is triggered by various infrastructure developments in West Java, both sourced from the APBD and the APBN. "There are at least 32 national strategic projects in West Java and focused on eleven fields," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Perkindo Jawa Barat DPD A Sutisna Abdul Azis said, Perkindo Jabar was established in 2017 consisting of 214 consultants who handled various projects throughout West Java. The project classification is 92 percent small construction, 7 percent medium, and 1 percent large construction. Perkindo is one of the associations of consultant service agencies in the field of development.

Sutisna hopes that this regional meeting will produce a work program for the next five years in development in West Java. Also as a venue for evaluation in synergy with various parties including the West Java Provincial Government.
