    West Java experienced inflation of 0.10 percent in March 2019


    BANDUNG - West Java's Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said that in March 2019 the West Java Joint CPI covering 7 cities namely Bogor City, Sukabumi City, Bandung City, Cirebon City, Bekasi City, Depok City and Tasikmalaya City experienced an increase in the index. CPI from 133.82 in February 2019 to 133.96 in March 2019; thus inflation was 0.10 percent.

    Head of BPS West Java Dodi Herlando said the inflation rate of the calendar year "year to date" (January - March 2019) was 0.39 percent and the inflation rate from year to year "year on year" (March 2019 to March 2018) was recorded at 2, 42 percent.

    Seven expenditure groups that experienced inflation were Foodstuffs of 0.28 percent, Prepared Foods, Beverages, Cigarettes & Tobacco by 0.18 percent, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Fuel by 0.13 percent, Clothing Group by 0.06 percent.

    The Health Group by 0.16 percent, and the Education, Recreation & Sports Group by 0.02 percent. While those who experienced deflation were the Transport, Communication & Finance Group of 0.21 percent.

    While seven cities in CPI monitoring in West Java in March 201 all experienced inflation, namely Bogor City by 0.28 percent, Sukabumi City by 0.04 percent, Bandung City by 0.03 percent, Cirebon City by 0.18 percent, Bekasi City by 0.01 percent, Depok City by 0.24 percent, and Tasikmalaya City by 0.03 percent. jo
