    BI West Java Declaration West Java Halal Center Consortium

    BANDUNG - The Bank Indonesia Representative Office (KPw BI) of West Java Province held the West Java Halal Center Declaration Activity and Training on Halal Certification for UMKM, PKL and Kopontren, Tuesday (03/25/2019).

    "This activity was held as a manifestation of the sharia economic and financial development of the Bank of West Java Province BI in 2019 specifically in the context of developing a halal value chain in West Java," said BI Head of West Java Representative Doni P Joewono.

    The series of activities were held for two days and began with the Announcement and Signing of the Declaration of the Halal Center Consortium in West Java to Make West Java the Pioneer of the National Halal Certification Movement.

    According to him, the rapid growth of economic and sharia financial performance supported by the right sharia industry development strategy, then in the future Indonesia is expected not only to act as the largest market but also be the largest producer in the halal industry sector.

    In West Java, the Bank Indonesia Representative Office of West Java Province has been actively developing Islamic economics and finance since 2013. In 2018, various activities have been carried out such as the Java Regional Islamic Economic Festival, Islamic Boarding School Economic Development Program, PUSPA 2.0 Pilot Project Program , Halal Tourism Program, and Halal IKRA (Creative Industry) Program.

    Continuing these efforts, in 2019 the Bank Indonesia West Java Province Representative Office has 5 (five) flagship Sharia economic and financial development programs in West Java, including: Islamic Boarding School Economic Independence Development Program; PUSPA Program (Assistance to Sharia MSMEs by Practitioners and Academics); IKRA (Creative Industry) Program in the framework of Strengthening Halal Value Chain; Halal Certification Program for MSMEs, and Halal Tourism Development Program.

    Halal Certification Training for UMKM, Street Vendors (PKL) and Cooperative Boarding School Actors enthusiastically. The enthusiasm of the training participants was very large, which was reflected in the high interest of registrants who reached 800 MSMEs in the opening two days of registration.

    "This activity aims to prepare MSME actors to meet various requirements and to know in depth the halal certification process. The whole series of activities are expected to be the first step to further support the development of Islamic economics so that the vision of "West Java as the Shaft of Islamic Economics and Finance Education in Indonesia" can be realized soon, "he concluded. jo
