WEST BANDUNG REGENCY - Regional Secretary of West Java Province (Secretary of West Java) Iwa Karniwa said the success of the development of the field of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection was indicated by two indicators, or the Gender Development Index (IPG) and the Gender Empowerment Index (IDG). Both achievements of this indicator show an increasing trend over the last five years.
"The GPA for 2017 was recorded at 89.18 points, an increase of 0.97 points compared to 2013 (88.21). At the district / city level the disparity in GPA between districts / cities was 14.32 points with the highest GPA of 93.43 points. and the lowest is 79.11 points, "said Iwa when opening directly the Regional Devices Forum for the Empowerment of Women in Child Protection and Family Planning in 2019 with West Java Regency / City at Mason Pine Hotel, Kab. West Bandung, Wednesday (03/20/2019).
"While the IDG in 2017 was recorded at 70.04 points, an increase of 2.47 points compared to 2013 (67.57 points). And at the district / city level the disparity in ED between districts / cities amounted to 33.44 points, with the highest IDG of 81 , 40 points at the lowest 47.96, "he added.
Meanwhile, related to the Population and Family Control Aspect, there is a significant decline in the Population Growth Rate (LPP) over the past five years.
West Java Province LPP was recorded at 1.39 in 2017, or decreased by 28% compared to 2013 (1.78). The Existence of 2000 Village Activists (TPD) and 666 Outlawed Motivators. The family (MOTEKAR) spread across 27 districts / cities has strengthened the success of the Population and Family Planning Control program in West Java.
According to Iwa, the figures above show that there are still gaps in the roles of women and men in development. So the West Java Provincial Government will continue to launch an innovation program to increase access, participation, control and benefits for women in various aspects of development.
"One of the flagship programs, namely the Women's School for Dreams and Dreams or Sekoper Cinta, which was launched by the Governor of West Java together with the Minister of Women Empowerment and Protection of Indonesian Children in December 2018," he explained.
The Chairperson of the TP PKK West Java Province who is also the Chairperson of the Organizing Team for Women's Schools Achieving Dreams and Dreams (Sekoper Cinta), Atalia Praratya Kamil explained that Sekoper Cinta is a place for women to exchange knowledge and experience to improve the quality of life.
Sekoper Cinta is also an effort to empower women to realize equality of roles, access, participation, control and benefits between women and men in all fields.
"Through this Love Suit program, we hope that issues in West Java can be resolved, especially the problem of prevalence of stunting, child marriage, maternal and infant mortality, divorce, violence, and human trafficking," said Atalia.
The high divorce in West Java is also the reason for the presence of Sekoper Cinta. There are more than 33,000 divorce cases caused by economic factors and high child marriages, especially in Indramayu, Garut, Sukabumi, Cianjur, Bekasi, Subang and Karawang Regencies. In addition, cases of criminal trafficking in persons / TPPO (human traficking) in West Java are also fairly high.
As for the stages of the Sekoper Cinta program, said Atalia, there was the establishment of program guidelines, the making of general learning models and thematic models, the implementation of women's schools in 27 districts / cities, monitoring and evaluation as well as training of trainers (TOT) for volunteers and facilitators.
"Actually, there are currently several districts / cities in West Java that have implemented women's schools. Like Mother Schools in Bogor City, Friday Schools in Cimahi City, Pekka Rooms in Cianjur Regency and Great Women's Schools in Bandung regency," Atalia added.
"With Sekoper Cinta, we will answer helplessness to be empowered. Especially in empowering the rights of women and children," he said.
Deputy of Public Participation in the Ministry of PPPA, Indra Gunawan welcomed the establishment of the Sekoper Cinta program. According to him, the achievements of the Regional Government of West Java Province can of course be implemented at the national level to become a model for other regions.
"Usually the initiation of programs starting from community institutions is always a long process. But with direct support from the Provincial Government which requires all districts / cities to have female schools, of course this is one sign that this program will spread more quickly and expand," he said.
"To realize an increase in the quality of life and the role of women, education is one of the keys. Women's schools are an alternative access for women education, "continued Indra.
