BANDUNG - West Java International Airport BIJB Kertajati Majalengka Regency will be the hub or node for cargo transportation. This was revealed by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil at a press conference at the Pakuan State Building on Monday (3/18/2019).
"One airline from Malaysia has stated its readiness for cargo transporters and has become a kind of hub there. They will build sophisticated warehouses for storing package items and others," Emil explained.
The governor said the effort was an initial attempt to enliven the activities at the new airport's BIJB.
"This is one of the efforts to revive BIJB. Because wherever the new airport will usually start alive and crowded within 5 years after operating, there are even 10 years," he said.
In addition to cargo, Ridwan Kamil also said the 2019 pilgrimage and pilgrimage will begin to depart from BIJB.
"For the Hajj and Umrah we will try as soon as possible to depart from BIJB this year, just pray," Emil explained. (Even)
