BANDUNG - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil conducts foreign trips for the next week, precisely to three countries in the Middle East. He departed Wednesday (6/3/19) night through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang, Banten.
Countries to be visited include Morocco and Algeria. In these two countries, Emil - Ridwan Kamil's nickname, will sign the MoU related to sister province cooperation.
"There are two sister provinces in Morocco and Al Jazair that I have to sign the MoU. Why am I going to the Middle East? Because I want people to invest in West Java not only dominated by East Asia (Japan and China) or Singapore," Emil said when met in Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Wednesday (03/06/19).
"We want people to invest in West Java as well as from Muslim countries, Middle East countries," he continued.
Emil said that he was actively promoting the Rebana Triangle (Cirebon - Kertajati - Patimban) industrial center. He hopes that investment in the future industrial center of West Java will come from Middle Eastern countries.
"Patimban Triangle - Cirebon - Kertajati, so that the investment will come from the Middle East, because this West Java machine is impossible to withdraw without investment. Well, I have to balance the geopolitical investment," Emil said.
In addition, at Al Jazair Emil will discuss the construction of Soekarno Square. He claimed he was asked by the Al Jazair Government to design Soekarno Square at Al Jazair. The spirit of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia became an inspiration for the country on the Mediterranean Sea, North Africa, especially after the 1955 Asia-Africa Conference in the city of Bandung.
"Because Al Jazair was independent inspired by the Asian-African Conference and also by the spirit of Bung Karno (Soekarno)," he said.
The third country Emil will visit and the group will be the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In this country Emil will visit Dubai to see airport cargo management being one of the best in the world. This is related to the plan of Kertajati Majalengka Airport which will also be used as an airport cargo.
"There is a collaboration plan to use many international flights to Kertajati as well, related to Kertajati's plan, we will make it other than (departure airport) hajj and Umrah but it is also used as airport cargo. This is very popular. This cargo airport is one of the best in the world in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, "he explained.
He will add that his visit to the Middle East will be used to find donor countries for the construction of the Indonesian International Islamic University (UIII) Campus in Cimanggis, Depok City.
"I received an order from the Vice President (Jusuf Kalla) to seek development donors for UIII. Funds from the new state budget are one-third, two thirds are expected - for example, building one from this country, because this (UIII) is international," Emil said.
"So, in one series I visited Morocco, Al Jazair, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. It was a week, the middle of next week has come home," he said. (Even)
