Habibi Garden Startup Presents at 2019 GLOMO Awards

BANDUNG - For the first time in history, Indonesia has a representative at the Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards 2019 at the 2019 Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona: Winner of The NextDev Telkomsel 2016 namely Habibi Garden. Startup Internet of Things (IoT) in the field of agriculture won the Best 5 award, setting aside 1,080 registered competitors for the nomination of the category 'Social Good: Outstanding Mobile Contribution to the UN SDGs'. This annual event is held in Barcelona, Spain on February 26, 2019.

Habibi Garden is a startup that combines the implementation model of the Habibi Garden Precision Sensor and the technology of Telkomsel's Internet of Things (NB-IoT) Band. With this, Habibi Garden is able to provide up-to-date data on soil conditions and nutrients in plants through smart phones to increase productivity, reduce costs, and reduce the possibility of crop failure.

Habibi Garden has been used by more than 1,300 farmers in Indonesia, providing social impacts that can be directly felt through the use of around 600 sensors spread across Java and Sumatra. Habibi Garden also succeeded in increasing the overall harvest value to a total of 8 billion Rupiah in less than 10 months.

Agricultural data collection techniques, the implementation of autonomous irrigation systems, and the use of boards reinforced by Habibi Garden's Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine-Learning can help farmers understand plants better. In addition, this solution also allows farmers to make decisions based on the facts of the field, no longer depending on intuition and mere habits.

The 2019 GLOMO Awards see that this collaborative solution turns out to not only help farmers technically, but also socially. The transfer of traditional cropping methods to modern uses of digital technology and effective funding solutions is in line with various points in the United Nations (UN) social development guide: United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, related to no poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, decent work and economic growth, industry, innovation, and infrastructure, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, life on land, and partnerships for the goals.

GLOMOAwards provides opportunities for technology and telecommunications actors to demonstrate the best quality of their products, applications, devices, services and initiatives. GLOMO Awards also support the creation of more value for the mobiledigital ecosystem in the world, because this grand event is open to all actors in the cellular communication ecosystem, from operators, manufacturers, to service providers and industry supporters from other fields, such as finance, energy, entertainment, advertising , computers, education, automotive, health, etc., where cellular products and services are used or developed.

The judging session for the most prestigious international award for the technology and telecommunications industry worldwide will take place on February 25, 2019, followed by the evening of the awarding on the following day, February 26, 2019 in Spain. The Best of the Best position was awarded to the World Food Program for SCOPE CODA, while Habibi Garden received the Best 5 Best Outstanding Mobile Contribution to UN SDGs at the GLOMO Awards 2019.
