Emil, Two Ways to Enliven BIJB

BANDUNG - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil stated, there are two ways to optimize the existence of West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati, Majalengka Regency. One of them is by moving all flights at Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung City to BIJB.

Previously, the existence of Kertajati Airport was highlighted in the presidential debate, which was held on Sunday (17/2) night. Presidential Candidate 02 Prabowo Subianto highlighted the loneliness of the airport which was inaugurated by Joko Widodo last year.

Presidential Candidate 01, Joko Widodo, who is the incumbent, said that to optimize Kertajati Airport, the flight route from Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung will be moved to the airport. It is also supported by the existence of Cisumdawu Toll Road which is still under construction.

Responding to that, the number one person in West Java Ridwan Kamil stated that there were two options to optimize the existence of Kertajati Airport. First move all commercial flights at Husein Sastranegara Airport to Kertajati Airport, as revealed by Jokowi.

Then other plans, move part of the flight at Husein Sastranegara Airport to Kertajati. The two airports also continue to function to serve commercial flights.

"That is an option, an option that is discussed 100% or partially (flights at Husein Airport to Kertajati)," Emil said, at Gedung Sate, Bandung, Monday (2/18/2019).

Just as discussed in the debate, optimization of Kertajati Airport is also constrained by access problems. Moreover, the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan Toll Road is still not finished. So that the community, especially in the East Priangan region is still having difficulty accessing Kertajati Airport.

"The problem with Kertajati is the access problem, Cisumdawu (not yet finished). The President (Jokowi) himself also said, right?"

For this year, it will maximize Kertajati Airport for Hajj and Umrah flights. Angkasa Pura II has also committed to preparing a dormitory to serve the departing pilgrims.

"We focus on Hajj and Umrah. Because of that, traveling is not always dynamic. Because there are scheduled flights. I think that is the most realistic. It has also been AP II's commitment. , "he said. (Even)
