West Java Workers Demanded Governor Issueing Sectoral Minimum Wage

BANDUNG - West Java Workers' Union (SPSI) West Java asked the West Java Provincial Government to immediately issue a Regency / City Sectoral Minimum Wage (UMSK) to ensure decent livelihoods for workers.

Chairperson of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) Federation of Metal, Electronic and Machine Workers Union (FSP LEM) of West Java SPSI, M Sidarta said, every Indonesian citizen who works has the right to obtain a decent income including the right of workers to obtain UMSK.

"If the wages in accordance with the MSE of the workers have already been obtained, the UMK is also the responsibility of the government so that the workers get a decent livelihood," he said.

Sidarta hoped that the Governor of West Java would immediately issue UMSK before the election of the President and Vice President, as had been done by the DKI Jakarta Province.

"Do not let the UMSK problem become a political commodity ahead of the presidential election and legislative elections," said Sidarta, in the 2019 UMSK Panel Discussion at Lodaya Hotel, Bandung, Thursday (02/14). (Parno)
