CIREBON - Vocational curriculum in West Java will be dismantled. This was stated by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil or Kang Emil in the presence of participants of the West Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry Muprov VII in Cirebon on Thursday (02/07/2019). According to him the policy was taken after knowing the data that the unemployment rate in West Java was mostly contributed by SMK graduates.
"This is an irony, a vocational school whose intention is to produce graduates who have skills but are even more unemployed. It turns out the data is that the knowledge of SMK graduates is not compatible with what is needed by the industry. explained Emil.
In the future, according to Emil, the issue of educational material or curriculum will be submitted to industries such as Astra, Samsung and others.
"The SMK building is funded by the provincial government, the teachers are the provincial government's responsibility, while the curriculum is handed over to the industry as needed in the field," he said.
Emil added that SMK graduates must have skills that can be directly applied in the world of work, meaning that the material obtained at school must be mature. West Java Chamber of Commerce itself held a Provincial VII Conference with the main agenda of choosing a new general chairperson for the period 2019 - 2023. The event was attended by Indonesian Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita, and regents / mayors in West Java. (Even)
