    January 2019, West Java Experienced 0.33% Inflation


    BANDUNG, West Java Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) states that if not in January 2019 the West Java Consumer Price or Combined CPI index covering 7 cities namely Bogor City, Sukabumi City, Bandung City, Cirebon City, Bekasi City, Depok City and Tasikmalaya City experienced index increase.

    "CPI from 133.44 in December 2018 to 133.89 in January 2019; thus inflation was 0.33%," said Head of BPS of West Java Doddy Herlando, Friday (2/1/2019).

    The year to date calendar year inflation rate (January 2019) was recorded at 0.33 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (January 2019 against January 2018) was recorded at 3.04 percent.

    It was stated from seven expenditure groups that experienced inflation, namely the Foodstuffs Group of 0.94% of the Food, Drinks, Cigarettes & Tobacco Group of 0.21%, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Fuel Group of 0.37%, Group Clothing by 0.76%, Health Group by 0.15%, and Education, Recreation & Sports Group by 0.57%.

    While the Transport, Communication & Finance Group experienced a deflation of 0.54%

    Of the seven CPI monitoring cities in West Java in January 2019, all experienced inflation, namely Bogor City by 0.39%, Sukabumi City by 0.32%, Bandung City by 0.09%, Cirebon City by 0.20%, Bekasi City by 0.67%, Depok City by 0.20% and Tasikmalaya City by 0.41%. Jo
