The Governor Hopes the Community Upholds the Principle of the Presumption Not Guilty of the Meikarta Case

BANDUNG - West Java Governor Mochamad Ridwan Kamil spoke related to the mention of the name of West Java Regional Secretary Iwa Karniwa in the session of the non-active Regent of Bekasi Neneng Hasanah Yasin. Ridwan asked all parties to put forward the principle of presumption of innocence.

"I also read, I also heard. First, we certainly have to respect the trial process, if it is revealed that such information means we see the follow-up of the legal aspects. We put forward the principle of presumption of innocence, only one party submits information. Certainly must be confirmed, "said Ridwan, in Gedung Sate, Diponegoro Street, Bandung, Tuesday (1/15/2019).

According to his knowledge, based on the information he obtained, the appearance of the name Iwa was not a direct testimony of the Bekasi non-active Regent.

"If I listen too, it is still said, not direct testimony. I think we must respect the legal rights of anyone who is called by his name not to do things that harm his reputation," he said.

Ridwan also emphasized that he put forward the value and legal process. He also entrusts the media to report what they are according to legal facts.

When asked for confirmation by the West Java Regional Secretary, Ridwan acknowledged that what was conveyed to the media was exactly the same as what Iwa had conveyed to him.

"It's the same as the release because I felt I had never participated in the affairs of the BKPRD. So in the meantime (information) I got it," he concluded. (Even)
