BANDUNG-Floods in South Bandung area makes access road is closed a few days. It definitely makes a loss for the economy.
"These conditions make the industry and businesses suffer losses," said Chairman of the Regional Executive Board (BPD) Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) Dedy Widjaja, Tuesday (15/3).
According to him, such losses may be direct and indirect. The direct losses that damage industrial machinery, including its products, due to water-logging. While the indirect losses, it caused the access to and from the factory or industry to be isolated.
Dedy admitted that, so far it did not know how the value of losses due to the floods. Nevertheless, he added, it estimates the number is quite large.
"Maybe, it could reach billions of rupiah per day," said Dedy. Not only industry, any losses suffered by retail businesses.
Secretary DPD Indonesian Retailers Association (APRINDO) West Java, Henri Hendarta expressed the floods that hit several points in South Bandung area causing a lot of shops were flooded.
It made a number of items were damaged. "Flooding was making access to distribution disrupted," said Henri, who estimates dozens of shops in South Bandung area is forced to not operated.
