BANDUNG - West Java Regional Division of Logistics Bureau stated that it would continue to monitor rice prices at the farmer and consumer level so there would be no high jumps ahead of Christmas and New Year 2019.

Head of West Java Regional Division of Logistics Division, Ahmad Mamun, said that together with the food sector task force, monitoring was carried out directly to the markets and storage warehouses of rice throughout West Java, to find out the latest stock and price conditions.

"The end of the year and ahead of the presidential election should not cause price fluctuations, it can make us restless, so we are ready to monitor it," he said in Bandung, Friday (12/21).

He said that currently the rice stock in Bulog Jabar's warehouse reaches 234 thousand tons, which means it is still safe for food security for the next 6 months. Most of the stock is premium rice which has the best quality.

"The current price is still under control, for medium and premium. Similarly, the stock is still sufficient. So there is no need to worry," he said.

Currently the price of rice at the consumer level for the medium class averages Rp 9,150 per kg and premium rice costs Rp 12,800 per kg. Indeed, there are some premium quality rice whose prices are above average, but because they have certain specificities or packaging. Jo
