BANDUNG - Board of Directors of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) has carried out inspections of railroad travel lines ahead of the 2019 and New Year Christmas transportation period (Nataru) by using the Railone train to the South Java route.
Edi Sukmoro, Managing Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia, said that during the inspections, he checked the readiness of all stations that were passed during Nataru's operation and a number of points that were considered prone to disasters, both landslides, floods and other disasters.
"We see the readiness of the stations in the South, so that they are ready or not to face Nataru's moment this year," Edi said, to reporters at the Bandung Station.
Edi hopes that by checking the route, he will know which areas are ready to be passed properly and which ones need improvement so that the train journey during Nataru's transportation can run safely and smoothly.
"We know, now that it has entered the rainy season, we check which areas are prone to disasters, both amblations, landslides and floods, we have reports in Daops 2 Bandung that there are 44 prone landslides and collision points, while northern areas are more flooded," he said.
Edi added, for train ticket sales, especially in Java, for all majors continues to increase every day, especially for departures at the time before the Christmas and New Year holidays.
"The enthusiasm of people who want to use the train is quite high, so we will provide optimal service, especially security and comfort during the trip," he said. (Parno)
