The Government Will Simplify Licensing of Ornamental Fish Entrepreneurs

BANDUNG-Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B Panjaitan said, his party would support and simplify the licensing process for ornamental fish entrepreneurs. He promised to embrace all relevant Ministries or Institutions to facilitate licensing. Because, licensing problems are in the national interest in the future.

"I think the government will help. There have been difficulties presented, licensing will be opened one door so that it is easy. If there is a problem, permit let me know. All permits will be facilitated," Luhut said in his official statement in Bandung on Monday (12/12/2018) .

According to him, this is not just talking about business matters, but more than that. For this reason, with the ease of licensing, it is expected to increase export growth, especially in ornamental fish.

"I will give a one-door permit so I don't bother. We are the biggest archipelagic country, the government will support, don't hesitate," he said.

As is known, Indonesian freshwater is inhabited by 1,248 species of fish, 243 species of which are endemic species and 122 species of ornamental shrimp, while in Indonesia's marine waters there are around 3,476 species of fish.

"The value of Indonesian ornamental fish exports in 2017 amounted to USD 27.6 million, up USD 3 million from 2016 amounting to USD 24.6 million. Of course with the potential of extraordinary ornamental fish, Indonesia should be able to become the number 1 in the world, "he concluded. (Even)
