BOGOR - Indonesian President Joko Widodo distributed free electricity connection certificates to 82 poor and vulnerable poor households in Bogor, West Java (2/12/2018). Previously the President had the opportunity to turn on electricity 5 (five) households in Bantarjati, Bogor.
According to Jokowi, the President's nickname for free electricity connections was sponsored by 34 State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) which targeted 235,756 poor and vulnerable households in West Java according to TNP2K data.
For the initial stage, this free electricity connection was carried out in 8 districts / cities with a target of 130,248 households (KK) spread across Bogor City, Bogor Regency, Bandung Regency, Garut Regency, Tasikmalaya Regency, Pangandaran Regency, Cianjur Regency and Sukabumi Regency .
"As of November 30, 2018, 60,741 households are well connected, exceeding November's target of 60 thousand households, until now the connection process continues," Jokowi said through a PLN press release on Sunday.
The SOEs participating in the BUMN Synergy Sponsorship Program for Free Electric Connection for the Poor are as many as 34 SOEs and 1 Subsidiary namely PLN, Bulog, Jamkrindo, Pegadaian, Semen Indonesia, Dahana, Perhutani, BRI, Pindad, Telkom & Telkomsel, BNI, Airnav, Askrindo, Waskita, PTPN III Holding (PTPN VIII), Jasa Marga, Jasa Raharja, Jasindo, Biofarma, KAI, Hutama Karya, Telkomsel, Pertamina, Mandiri, Angkasa Pura 2, Pelindo 2, BTN, PIHC, WIKA, PP, PGN, Antam, Taspen, ASDP and POS.
In implementing this program, the community gets free electricity connection with a power of 450 VA. The 450 VA is enough to use TV, rice cooker, and turn on the lights.
For costs, the PLN and Installer Association provide 50% reduction in Installation and Installation Fees, so the costs to be paid by BUMN Synergy are only Rp. 500,000.
PLN Managing Director Sofyan Basir who was present at the review explained that previously these poor people connected from neighbors to get electricity.
"These disadvantaged people have not received electricity from PLN. They are forced to connect from neighbors, pay 40 to 50 thousand for lights every month or use other lighting such as kerosene lamps, "Sofyan said.
Through direct electricity, they can make a lot of savings for monthly expenses.
"This SOE synergy helps them pay for the cost of installing new electricity. Now they pay around 30 thousand per month for PLN electricity. "For lights, televisions and rice cookers and other electronic devices," Sofyan added.
It is hoped that with this program more and more poor people will get better welfare and SOEs PRESENT FOR STATE unceasingly continue to make real work efforts to improve the lives of the people of Indonesia. Jo
