PANGANDARAN REGENCY- To make Pangandaran a world class tourist destination, three A as a prerequisite must also be world class. The three A's include Attractions, Accessibility, and Amenities.
This was stated by the Minister of Tourism (Menpar) RI Arief Yahya in the 2018 Media Gathering event held by the Public Relations Bureau and Protocol of the West Java Provincial Secretariat at Pantai Indah Timur Resort, Pangandaran Regency, Wednesday (11/26/18).
"If you want to make Pangandaran a world-class tourist destination, then the Three A must be world class," said Minister of Tourism Arief.
Arief explained, Attractions include tourist destinations in the form of interesting natural, cultural and artificial tourism. Accessibility, namely infrastructure towards tourist areas and supporting infrastructure for tourist destinations, such as international class airports. The third A, namely Amenitas, like five-star public facilities starting from hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops, parks to health facilities and other public facilities.
Meanwhile, in line with the West Java Provincial Government's commitment to make West Java a Tourism Province, Governor Ridwan Kamil, who was also present as a guest speaker at the Media Gathering, revealed his strategy to make tourism a priority in West Java.
"The superiority of West Java Province is tourism," Emil said.
"However, West Java is less polished. Five years I will polish gemstone (West Java), it will sparkle," he continued.
These strategies include dividing tourism into three types. Type 1 tourism, which is to improve existing destinations that are less than optimal. Type 2 tourism, making new tourist destinations in 27 districts / cities. For this, Emil, the nickname of Ridwan Kamil, will spend a budget of Rp. 30-40 billion for each district / city.
For Type 3 Tourism, the Regional Government of West Java Province will prepare a special cluster to become a tourism area through KEK (Special Economic Zones). There are two SEZs that have been prepared to date, namely the Pangandaran SEZ and Cikidang KEK, Sukabumi.
"Our strategy is to aim for Pangandaran as KEK in March 2019," Emil said.
The Central Government has established 10 "New Bali" as national superior destinations. But unfortunately, not a single destination from West Java is included in the list. The ten destinations, including: Tanjung Kelayang, Belitung; Lake Toba, North Sumatra; Tanjung Lesung, Banten; Thousand Islands, Jakarta; Borobudur, Central Java; Bromo Tengger Semeru, East Java; Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara; Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara; Wakatobi, Southeast Sulawesi; and Morotai, North Maluku.
For this reason, although the destination in West Java is not included in the list of 10 "New Bali", Emil encouraged the Central Government to have West Java to have a Special Economic Zone (KEK).
"I am sad when there are no destinations in West Java that are included in those 10 destinations (New Bali). So I urge that there is a Special Economic Zone in West Java," he said.
