March 2019, Pangandaran Raya is targeted to be SEZ

PANGANDARAN REGENCY- The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism targets Pangandaran to have become a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). This was revealed by the Minister of Tourism (Menpar) RI Arief Yahya SATA reviewing the location of SEZ candidates in Grand Pangandaran, Pangandaran Regency, Wednesday (11/28/18).

"I want the March 2019 Pangandaran Raya SEZ to be ready," said Menpar who was accompanied by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil and Pangandaran Regent Jeje Wiradinata.

Menpar explained that one of the conditions that must be met by KEK is the presence of One Stop Service (OSS). This will support the licensing process because it is only enough to be done in one door of the bureaucracy. If this is realized, it is believed that investors will flock to invest in the KEK Pangandaran.

SEZ is the center of new economic growth in a region. Pangandaran Raya is considered the most ready to be the first SEZ in West Java. The Pangandaran Raya SEZ in the Grand Pangandaran area is ready with an area of ??196 hectares.

Three things are needed to support the Special Economic Zone of Pangandaran Raya, namely: First; accessibility such as road and airport infrastructure; Second, facilities that include hotels and world-class tourist destinations; and Third, feasibility in the form of budget, human resources, and policy.

Meanwhile, Governor Ridwan Kamil stated that he would make West Java a Province of Tourism in Indonesia. This can be realized through commitment and willingness.

"I have decided that West Java will become a tourism province because of its potential," Emil said.

"We have agreed to provide political will," he continued.

In the context of tourism, Emil said it would pour out a budget of Rp. 40-80 billion for each district / city in order to create a new tourist destination. "Especially for Pangandaran, we will double it to Rp. 80 billion," Emil explained.

This was done as a commitment to improve the supporting infrastructure of tourist destinations in Pangandaran. Another thing, namely transportation connectivity. The West Java Provincial Government will reactivate the railway from Bandung to Pangandaran. Because currently, by land route Bandung-Pangandaran travel time is up to 6.5 hours. Emil said, widening the road is also important.

For this reason, the development of airways is also another alternative through the revitalization of Nusawiru Airport, where the airport is one of the assets of the Regional Government of West Java Province. Emil said that he would study the frequency of flights to Pangandaran.

"I am with Susi Air currently studying the addition of flight frequency (to Pangandaran)," Emil said.

Emil added, structuring the tourist destination area in Pangandaran will be another focus. One of them, Emil will review the West Coast and East Coast areas so that later arrangements can be made.

"Tourists will be happy if there are many choices, so that the place will be missed a lot," he said.
