BOGOR REGENCY Representing West Java Governor, Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Java Province Iwa Karniwa along with Bogor Regent Nurhayanti and West Java NPCI Chairperson Ukun Rukaendi officially closed the Peparda V event held at Cibinong Mini Stadium, Cibinong, Bogor Regency, Tuesday (13 / 11/18).
Bogor Regency came out as the overall champion of the Regional Paralympic Week (Peparda) V West Java 2018 with 191 gold, 74 silver and 56 bronze. Followed by Bandung City, second place (109 gold, 92 silver, 63 bronze), and Bekasi Regency in third place (51 gold, 59 silver, 64 bronze).
Secretary Iwa noted, Porda XIII and Peparda V West Java 2018 became the best organization in the history of Porda and Peparda in West Java. It is hoped that this event will become a venue for West Java preparations towards the General Champion of PON and National Poverty Reduction in Papua
"In our opinion this is the best organization in the history of Porda and Peparda," said Iwa.
"And this is the provision for West Java to excel in PON and Peparnas in Papua in 2020," he continued.
For this reason, Iwa encouraged the Koni and NPCI West Java to carry out continuous development, so that West Java could maintain the overall champion of PON and Peparnas.
"We push to Koni West Java and the West Java NPCI after this, the seeds (athletes) will already be there, then carry out continuous development steps," said Iwa.
Peparda V was held for ten days starting November 4-13 2018 followed by 1,075 paralegians from 27 districts / cities in West Java. Bogor Regent Nurhayanti hopes that Peparda will become a spirit of equality and togetherness, paralysis in surpassing its limitations.
"Peparda's momentum is a spirit of equality, spirit of togetherness, potential and the glory of sports achievements that are surpassed by paralympians who have surpassed the barriers of limitations," said Nurhayanti.
Meanwhile, Chairman of West Java NPCI Ukun Rukaendi will evaluate the implementation of Peparda this time. Because even though this is the fifth Peparda, but for the NPCI it's the first Peparda.
"We strongly acknowledge this is the first time for us to hold Peparda after leaving Koni. Although this is the fifth season but for us (NPCI) it is the first Peparda," Ukun said.
"We will evaluate and will hold Peparda much better in the future, because we have a lot of experience," he said.
