President: Bandung is the most ready to greet the Industrial Revolution 4.0

BANDUNG-During his working visit to Bandung City, Indonesian President Joko Widodo met with creative communities in Jalan Braga No. 3 Bandung's Creative Cities Network (ICCN), Saturday (11/10/18) night. The event which was packaged in the discussion forum was also attended by the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil.

In the presence of creative industries in the field of fashion, music, culinary, President Jokowi said that Indonesia must respond quickly to world change especially in the 4.0 industrial revolution.

"All countries are ready to respond to the 4.0 industrial revolution. I feel we must respond quickly to changes in the world, the change is very fast," the President said.

According to him, who can only respond to revolution 4.0 are young people or millennials. The President said, among cities throughout Indonesia the city of Bandung was the most prepared to welcome the 4.0 industrial revolution because the digital economy and creative industries were very rapidly developing.

"I believe that after seeing the creative industry, digital economy in Bandung, I would like to say that Indonesia's most creative creative hub is the city of Bandung, and I have seen it all," he said.

Now what is needed is a good ecosystem and supporting regulations. However, said Jokowi, if the regulation actually inhibits the progress of the creative industry, it should be eliminated.

"If it is too regulated, it will not be creative later," he said.

Jokowi also always reminded his ministers that in making rules relating to the creative industry must provide support and new ideas.

"I always convey to the Minister not always make strange rules, which are related to digital economics and creative industries. If you are asked correctly, new actors will appear, because there are regulations that actually inhibit this, which I am worried about," he said.

At the end of the discussion, the President asked the Indonesian people to carry out the industrial revolution 4.0 with the digital economy and the creative industry.

"Welcome to the 4.0 industrial revolution in our country that has been welcomed by Bandung," he said.
