BALI-Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil, along with Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) Triawan Munaf, signed a joint agreement between the Regional Government of West Java Province and the Creative Economy Agency about developing creative economic potential in West Java Province.
Emil, familiarly called the Governor of West Java revealed, in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), it was agreed that the Creative Economy Agency has the authority as a body that has the responsibility to establish creative economic policies in order to improve national economic growth.
While West Java Province, which has creative economic potential, needs to be developed and utilized optimally through the expansion of regional creative economy products by providing infrastructure, information technology, education and facilitation of intellectual property rights and committing to the development of the creative economy.
Based on these considerations, the Creative Economy Agency and the West Java Provincial Government, in accordance with their respective positions and authorities, agreed to jointly make efforts related to the development of creative economic potential in West Java Province.
Governor Ridwan Kamil also revealed, the Provincial Government has issued West Java Provincial Regulation Number 15 of 2017 concerning the Development of Creative Economy, and West Java Provincial Regulation Number 10 of 2018 concerning Management of Intellectual Property.
"West Java is proud to say, the only Province that has a regional regulation on the creative economy is West Java," said the Governor of West Java, at the World Creative Economic Conference (WCCE), at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center hall ( BNDCC), Wednesday (11/07/2018).
Going forward, Emil continued, the Regional Creative Economy Agency will be present, under the supervision of the central Creative Economy Agency, to support the development of an inclusive creative economy.
The basis for Bekraf and the Regional Government is to work together around coordination. The rest, for economic development itself, will become the authority of each region.
"It means that West Java will be one of the regions that supports the development of creative economy for all its citizens," Emil said.
In addition, the scope of the agreement includes research, education and development of the creative economy, access to capital, infrastructure, marketing and promotion, and facilitation of intellectual property rights.
Bekraf and the West Java Provincial Government are authorized in drafting regulations, facilitating creative economy marketing, and other activities deemed necessary and agreed upon by both parties.
