    West Java's Economy Still Grows

    BANDUNG, West Java Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released the West Java Economy in quarter III-2018. West Java's economy in the third quarter of 2018 against the third quarter of 2017 grew by 5.58 percent (y-on-y) compared to the same period in 2017 which grew by 5.20 percent.

    The economy is measured based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on the basis of current prices reaching Rp 501.70 trillion. Whereas the GDP at constant 2010 prices reached Rp. 361.89 trillion.

    In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by Information and Communication Business Fields of 10.85 percent. While in terms of expenditure, the Non-Profit Institution Consumption Component grew by 18.92 percent.

    According to the Head of BPS West Java Doddy Herlando, the West Java Economic Quarter III-2018 against the previous quarter increased by 1.75 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field at 6.06 percent. The highest growth in terms of expenditure was due to the growth in the components of Government Consumption Expenditures amounting to 8.71 percent.

    The cumulative (c-to-c) economy of West Java in the third quarter of 2018 grew 5.73 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by Information and Communication Business Fields of 10.31 percent. The highest growth in expenditure was due to the growth in the Non-Profit Institution Consumption Expenditure component growing by 19.45 percent.

    While the source of the growth rate (Source of Growth, SOG) in terms of (y-o-y) in terms of the business field that contributes the biggest growth is the Manufacturing Industry Business Field which is equal to 2.92 percent. The biggest positive share of growth is the component of Household Consumption Expenditure (PKRT) of 2.44 percent. jo
