    October inflation in West Java amounted to 0.29 percent


    BANDUNG The West Java Combined Price Index or CPI in October 2018 which includes 7 cities namely Bogor City, Sukabumi City, Bandung City, Cirebon City, Bekasi City, Depok City and Tasikmalaya City experienced an increase in the index. CPI from 131.96 in September 2018 to 132.34 in October 2018, thus inflation was 0.29 percent.

    Head of West Java Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Doddy Herlando said the year-to-date inflation rate of the calendar year (January-October 2018) was 2.69 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate was "year on year" (October 2018 against October 2017) recorded at 3.48 percent.

    Of the seven expenditure groups that experienced inflation, namely the Foodstuffs Group by 0.06 percent, the Food Foods Group, Beverages, Cigarettes & Tobacco by 0.09 percent, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Fuel Group by 0.40 percent, Group Clothing by 0.94 percent, Education, Recreation & Sports by 0.06 percent, and the Transport, Communication & Finance Group by 0.60 percent. While the Health Group experienced a deflation of 0.27 percent.

    Doddy said that of the seven CPI monitoring cities in West Java in October 2018, all of them experienced inflation, namely Bogor City by 0.24 percent, Sukabumi City at 0.12 percent, Bandung City at 0.50 percent, Cirebon City at 0.12 percent, Kota Bekasi by 0.16 percent, Depok City by 0.33 percent, and Tasikmalaya City by 0.05 percent.
