    IDI Scientific Meeting, Vice-Governor Asks Responsive Doctors to Serve the Citizens


    BANDUNG-Vice-Governor of West Java, Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, opened the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) of the West Java Region, took place at the Convention Room, The Trans Luxury Hotel Bandung, Thursday (11/10/18).

    In his direction on the plan, Vice-Governor Uu said health was a major factor in development. Even from the President, the Governor, to the Regents / Mayors, surely want a healthy citizens.

    "Surely they always reveal, want to improve public health," said Uu.

    Because health is human capital which is a prerequisite for increasing productivity. So, health, is one of the driving factors affecting economic growth.

    "Like improving public health, it will encourage labor participation. Thus, a healthy society can bring improvement, which then contributes to economic growth," he explained.

    So healthy, continued Uu, is a state of perfect physical, mental, and social well-being. This is in accordance with the vision of its mission with Governor Ridwan Kamil, is building West Java which is "Inner Birth Champion."

    That is, West Java must advance in physical development, as well as human development.

    "So, there is a doctor's role there in realizing the Champion West Java citizens," Uu added.

    Thus, improving health services is absolutely necessary to produce a higher level of public health. In order to enable people to live more productive, both economically and socially so as to create an Inner Born Champion.

    Aside from that, the presence of technology in the health sector continues to grow. This should affect the maximum public health services.

    Then the Vice-Governor of Uu also encouraged, the use of health technology by medical personnel. Including his side, as a government, will try to present, and equalize these needs in every corner of West Java.

    Finally, Uu asks medical staff, especially doctors, to serve the citizens, especially the service users of the National Health Insurance (JKN) organizing body, or BPJS to be served optimally.

    "The citizens must be served responsively," Uu ordered.

    Meanwhile, General Chairman of PB IDI, Prof. Dr. Ilham Oetama Marsis, SpOG (K), it supports the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in 2019.

    This must also be supported by the quality of health services as well as optimal quality standards. So this IDI annual Scientific Meeting event is a means of enriching competition, for Doctors.

    "So that increasing the role, and actively making Indonesian people healthy," he said.

    This activity was attended by more than 1,200 participants were doctors from various parts of West Java and Indonesia.

    As for he said, the number of Doctors in West Java amounted to a quarter of the total number of doctors in the country. That is, West Java has great potential.

    "This is what must be explored, how is the potential of doctors to be maximized," he said.

    "Of the thousands of doctors in West Java, more are in western West Java such as Depok, Karawang, Bekasi, while there are around hundreds of doctors, such as Ciamis, Banjar, and surrounding areas," he said.

    So, the government, he said, needs to pay attention to the issue of equal distribution of health workers, especially doctors, in West Java.

    "Maybe with the support of facilities, infrastructure, as well as attention to the welfare of doctors assigned in certain areas," he said.

    In essence, IDI is a partner of the government, in the field of Health Development.
