BANDUNG - Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil asserted the extension of the runway of the 500-meter West Java International Airport (BIJB) is being carried out. According to him the extension of the run way can be completed in December 2018.
"With the run way length reaching 3000 meters, large-bodied aircraft such as Boeing can land, meaning direct flights to foreign countries can already be done," he explained.
However, according to Emil, it certainly must be supplemented by the readiness of airport supporters. Such as access to transportation and the Aero City area must be built immediately.
"Majalangka will become an area of economic growth in North Sumatra, becoming a modern area," he explained.
President Director of PT BIJB Virda Dimas added there were already 14 flight destinations currently running on BIJB, most of which were domestic or local trips.
He asserted, for a while waiting for the completion of the runway extension, the flight would be maximized for domestic purposes.
"Must be prepared for maximum service first," he said. jo
