    Ministry of Social Affairs Continues to Monitor Aid for Donggala and Palu Victims


    BANDUNG - Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said the Ministry of Social Affairs had made emergency response efforts to deal with the Donggala earthquake, Central Sulawesi.

    Social Minister has also coordinated with the TNI (Indonesian National Army) Commander in order to mobilize relief goods and evacuation equipment that has been prepared from the Ministry of Social Central Warehouse in Bekasi. The aid sent was 1,000 boxes of fast food, 2,000 beds, 25 multipurpose tents, 3000 roll tents, 2 packages of public kitchen equipment, 1,000 mattresses and 1,500 beds.

    "We have identified the resources owned by the Ministry of Social Affairs and activated the social disaster management system. Both the emergency aid bufferstok, evacuation equipment, Tagana volunteer personnel, and disaster alert vehicles, "the Minister said in his official statement in Bandung, Tuesday (10/10/2018).

    Agus revealed assistance from the East Regional Ministry of Social Affairs Warehouse in Makassar. The assistance consisted of 100 beds, 2 family multipurpose tents, 1500 mattresses, 3000 blankets, 200 family kits, 200 kids ware, 100 roll tents, 345 food ware, 100 clothing packages. In addition, it has coordinated with the Gorontalo Provincial Government because in the Gorontalo Regional Government warehouse there are items from the Ministry of Social Affairs which will also be mobilized to the disaster area.

    "The Ministry of Social Affairs has also ordered emergency assistance mobilization from existing stocks at Gudang Regional Timur through land routes," he said

    Ministry of Social Affairs, continued Minister Agus, also mobilized 100 Tagana volunteers consisting of 30 Tagana Gorontalo Province, 30 Tagana from West Sulawesi, and 40 Tagana from South Sulawesi. Mobilization of disaster alert vehicles from buffer zones in the form of rescue cars, trucks, and especially public kitchen vehicles that can cook in large quantities

    Meanwhile, to meet the food supply needs in emergency conditions, there are direct purchases of 3000 side dishes at a nearby location that allows for quick distribution to affected locations.

    The Ministry of Social Affairs also prepares compensation for the heirs of the deceased victim. They will be given compensation of Rp. 15 million for each heir. jo
