    The Governor of West Java hopes to launch the Reactivation of the Cibatu-Garut Railway Line in 2019

    BANDUNG-West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil (Emil) hopes the Cibatu-Garut railway line reactivation launch can be done in 2019.

    Reactivation of the Cibatu-Garut-Cikajang railway line is needed to improve connectivity towards the southern region of West Java. The length of the path to be reactivated is planned to be 47.5 Km, which is divided into two sections, namely Section I Cibatu-Garut along 19.29 Km and Section II of Garut-Cikajang along 28.21 Km. The line is planned to pass through 3 Stations, namely Cibatu, Garut and Cikajang Stations. The total budget needed is Rp 1.1 trillion. Reactivation of the Cibatu Garut Cikajang railway line is planned to be completed in 2021-2022.

    Reactivation of the railroad track in an effort to improve connectivity between regions, reduce congestion, and reduce the level of private vehicle use, and increase accessibility to tourism areas.

    As is known, the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of West Java is trying to develop a network of railways, among others by reactivating railway lines in West Java.

    "At present West Java Provincial Government prioritizes four railway track reactivation plans, namely Reactivation of the Bandung-Ciwidey Railway Line; Rancaekek-Tanjungsari; Banjar-Pangandaran-Cijulang; and the Cibatu-Garut-Cikajang route, with a total budget of around Rp. 7.9 Trillion , "Emil told reporters on the sidelines of West Java's Information (JAPRI) activities on the page of the Gedung Sate Bandung on Thursday (27/9/21018).

    Reactivation of the Bandung-Ciwidey Railway is needed to improve connectivity and support accessibility to tourism areas in the South Bandung region. The length of the Bandung-Ciwidey line is 37.8 Km, which is planned to pass through 6 (six) stations namely Bandung Station, Cikudapateuh, Dayeuh Kolot, Banjaran, Soreang, and Ciwidey Station.

    "The total budget to reactivate the pathway is estimated at Rp 3.1 trillion. The reactivation of the Bandung Ciwidey line is planned to operate in 2022," he explained.

    Meanwhile, the reactivation of the Rancaekek-Tanjungsari railway line is needed to improve connectivity, reduce congestion, reduce the level of private vehicle use and support accessibility to the West Java International Airport in Kertajati Majalengka and support transportation in the Jatinangor education area. The length of the track to be reactivated is planned to be 11.5 Km, with plans for 3 stations namely Rancaekek (existing) station, Jatinangor and Tanjungsari.

    "This pathway reactivation plan is estimated to require a budget of Rp 1.3 trillion. Reactivation of this pathway is estimated to be completed in 2021-2022," he said.

    Meanwhile, continued Emil, reactivation of the Banjar-Pangandaran-Cijulang railway line is needed to improve connectivity and support accessibility to the tourism area in Pangandaran-Cijulang. The total budget for reactivating this route is 82 Km estimated at Rp. 2.5 Trillion.

    The length of the track to be reactivated is planned to be 82 Km and pass through 4 (four) Banjar Stations (existing), Pangandaran, Parigi, and Cijulang, as well as 4 (four) stops of Batulawang, Cikembulan, Cikalong, and Cibenda.

    "Reactivation of this path is expected to be completed in 2023," he concluded. (Pun)
