BANDUNG - West Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Agung Budi Maryoto said the 2018 West Java Regional Election stage was safe and smooth up to the point of inauguration. This condition according to him must be maintained in the Pileg and Pilpres.
In the safeguards preparedness for the 2019 Presidential Election and Pileg in Bandung's Sabuga Field, he said the implementation was safe and smooth because of the harmonious collaboration between the TNI, Polri and the citizens.
One of the reasons why the 2018 Pileg and Pilpres will run safely and smoothly is due to the neutrality of the TNI and Polri. This has already been proven in the 2018 elections there were no reports from the KPU and Bawaslu that found members who were not neutral.
"The Chief of Police insists for save neutrality. So, the citizens will be as confident and trust the National Police and commitment to safeguarding the state and nation, "he said.
He also stated the necessary of optimize early detection followed by efforts to prevent possible threats of danger and terrorism. The National Police Chief, he said, also encouraged the organizers of the Presidential Election and Pileg, including the KPU, Bawaslu, community leaders and others to inflame peaceful electoral elections.
"It also emphasized there is a professional and proportional law enforcement and good synergy between the TNI and Polri for every violation, by promoting a conducive atmosphere," he said.
Deputy Governor of West Java Uu Ruzhanul Ulum said the presidential election vulnerability was not to worry about, but what to watch out for is the Pileg. Because he thought the Pileg will be followed by many candidates, there is even competition between candidates at the village or sub-district level, so it more vulnerable.
He also appealed to politicians to prioritize friendship to avoid friction in the field.
"At least if at the level of the political elite is safe, friendship, then the lowest level of vulnerability can be minimized," he said. jo
