BANDUNG- Regional Leadership Council (DPD) RI gives appreciation and support for the program to be carried out by the pair of West Java Governor, M Ridwan Kamil and Deputy Governor of West Java, Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, for the next five years of his leadership, one of them is about new autonomy.
Deputy Chairman of Committee IV DPD RI, Ayi Hambali said, his party supports the plan of West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil who plans to expand several regions in West Java such as Bogor, Sukabumi and Garut.
"There was something interesting in the plenary session of the West Java DPRD yesterday, about the low allocation distributed by the center to West Java, which is only IDR 600 thousand per person per year while East Java is IDR 1 million," said Ayi, in the "National Dialogue and Friendship with Journalists" in Bandung , Monday (10/09).
According to Ayi, this condition occurs because the number of cities and regencies in East Java Province is 35, it is more considerable, while in West Java there are only 27 cities and regencies, although the population is more than 48 million people.
"To allocate funds to the regions, the central government is more looks at the number of cities and regencies in each region than the population, so if West Java wants to increase the allocation of funds from the center, it must add new autonomy," he said.
Ayi said, it is difficult to add new autonomy, a method that could possibly be able to increase the number of villages in West Java because in the future the central government plans to increase village funds so that it is expected that with the addition of this village there will also be additional allocation funds in West Java.
"Hopefully the Governor of West Java can increase the number of New Autonomy Funds (DOB) to increase by 13, to 40 so that it is balanced with East Java, but I suggest before the expansion of cities and regencies it is better to add villages because the authority is in the Governor and DPRD to be submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs," he said.
