BANDUNG - Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil (Kang Emil) said around 60 percent of Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) dominate economic growth in West Java.
Therefore, said Kang Emil, it will continue to support programs related to UKM, especially financial institutions.
"We support UKM programs, especially financial institutions," he told reporters on the Gedung Sate Bandung page, Sunday (02/09/2018)
Emil said that UKM have their own strength even when the monetary crisis hit the country, only UKM managed to survive the wheels of the economy.
"Although the number of employees is small but the number of UKM is so large that if one is broken then the growth of UKM will be even more," he said.
Regarding the development of UKM by the private sector, he said that it was impossible to build this country only by relying on the role of the government. So, the private sector must participate with its capital strength so as to create a just and prosperous country.
"A just and prosperous country is the result of cooperation between the government and the private sector. That's the formula," he concluded. (Jo)
