West Java Rice Stocks are Still very Safe

BANDUNG, West Java Divre Bulog, said that currently the rice stock is still sufficient for the next 9 months. This rice stock is very safe and can be used for the needs of society, literature and market operations.

Head of West Java Divre Bulog Division Achmad Mamun said currently, the availability of West Java Bulog stock reached 175,000 tons.

"If the normal requirement for market operations is around 12,000 per month, that (rice) is still enough for nine months. It is still very sufficient while waiting for the harvest in March 2019, "said Achmad Mamun at RPK Center, Jalan Margacinta, Bandung City, Thursday (08/23/2018).

According to him, in the October, November and December periods, the price of rice is usually volatile and tends to rise because there is no rice harvest. The reason is, the Gadu harvest is finished and the new farmers enter the planting season in December. New farmers can harvest in March 2019.

During the famine, Achmad continued, his side would conduct price stabilization. The target price of rice in the community is not too far from the government's most important retail price (HET). Where premium rice is set at Rp 9,450 per kg and medium Rp. 12,800 per kg.

Bulog Public Corporation will maximize rice uptake during the harvest season or during the dry season. To increase the availability of rice stocks in West Java by the end of 2018, Bulog targets to absorb 450,000 tons of rice this year.

"There is still time until the end of the year to pursue the target, but later that night I will collect all sub-divisions from all regions, to coordinate so that absorption can be maximized," he concluded.
