BOGOR CITY- After staying one night at the Bogor City Hall, the 2018 Asian Games torch flame was returned by Bogor Mayor Bima Arya to the 2018 Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC) at the Bogor City Hall Building, Wednesday (08/15/2018) morning.
Bima admitted that even though the torch relay had passed, the euphoria of the citizens of Bogor City yesterday made him still impressed until now.
"The enthusiasm of the residents is extraordinary. I still imagine it now. This means that the euphoria of the Asian Games has been very strong for the citizens in Bogor. We hope that this citizen support is strong because it is close to Jakarta and they can watch it directly there, "said Bima.
Bima also stated that he would immediately coordinate the schedules of athletes, especially athletes from the city of Bogor who will compete at the Asian Games later. In addition, Bima also hoped that after the Asian Games the passion of sports in Bogor City would increase.
"Hopefully the vibrant torch relay will increase motivation because of the support from all countries for the sports patriots at the Asian Games later," he said.
As is known, there are at least eight athletes from the city of rain who competed in the Asian Games, including in the Taekwondo sport there was Maulana
and Devia, in Judo there is Horas Manurung and Szalsza Maulida, table tennis is Alda and Titin. Then, the weightlifting is M. Furqon, and Idham in Athletics.
The Technical Director of the 2018 Asian Games Torch Relay Permana Sunu revealed that INASGOC was proud that the Asian Games torch flame could stop in the city of Bogor, because according to the Bogor City Government together with the Muspida ranks and the community they were able to demonstrate as a good and very compact torch relay.
"We really appreciate the local government and the community, welcoming the 2018 Asian Games torch flame," said Sunu.
Meanwhile, another INASGOC representative, Intan Nurlalita, said that from Bogor, the torch relay would go directly to East Jakarta precisely in Lippo Kramat Jati, which is expected to arrive at 09.00 WIB this morning. After coming from East Jakarta, the Torch Relay will be taken to South Jakarta, then to Central Jakarta and buried before reaching its peak at the opening of the Asian Games at Gelora Bung Karno on August 18, 2018.
