    15 Days Ahead of the Asian Games, West Java 100% Ready


    BANDUNG-The peak of the biggest sports competition in Asia, the XVIII 2018 Asian Games will begin in the next 15 days. West Java Regional Secretary Iwa Karniwa ensured that venues in West Java were 100% ready.

    West Java will provide a venue for football in Pakansari Stadium Bogor Regency, Patriot Stadium Bekasi City, Stadium Wibawamukti Bekasi Regency, and Si Jalak Harupat Stadium Bandung Regency, venue of road bicycle racing in Subang, venue Canoe Slalom at the weir Range Majalengka, Paragliding venue at Gunung Mas Puncak, Bogor Regency, and Mountain Bike Cycling venue in the Bunihayu forest in Subang Regency.

    Iwa said, 100% of the football venue had been completed, including training grounds. According to him, the venue for soccer sports training will be located in the Arcamanik integrated sports facility, which is also used as an operational control centre for the Asian Games in West Java.

    "The football in Jalak Harupat has been 100% developed. Now it's more about its beauty, for the grass, the cleanliness and so on. That is for the Jalak Harupat, Pakansari, Wibawamukti and Patriot," Iwa concluded after attending the Apple Forces in the framework of Securing the XVIII Asian Games in 2018, at Gasibu Square in Bandung on Friday (3/8/18).

    "So, for football place is done. Included also for training sites. The operational control centre in West Java in Integrated Sports Development Facility (Sport) 
    Arcamanik, and that too at a time for training football," he continued.

    Iwa also said, the venue of Road Bicycle Racing along 145 km through the route Dolog-Purwakarta-Karawang-Jalan Cagak, was 100% ready. Likewise with Kano Slalom sports in the Bendung Rentan Majalengka district, the preparations have reached 100%.

    Although it was hampered by access problems, paragliding venue readiness at Gunung Mas Puncak in Bogor Regency is now 100% ready. "Yesterday there was a problem accessing the road, now it's finished, so the venue is ready to use for the match," said Iwa.

    Mentioned regarding the preparation of the Asian Games torch relay, Iwa was sure the preparations had been carried out properly. He claimed to have monitored the preparation of the caravan under the 
    coordination of the Head of the West Java Provincial Tourism and Culture Office.

    The plan is, the Asian Games torch will arrive in Bandung on 11 August 2018. Starting from GT Pasteur was taken to Jalan Dr Djundjunan (Pasteur) then climbed to Pasupati Bridge. Furthermore, the torch will descend through Balubur region and continue towards Jalan Badak Singa, proceed to Gasibu Park, Telkom Building, Museum Pos Indonesia, Jalan Cimandiri, Jalan Cimalaya and ends at the Gedung Sate yard.
