BANDUNG-The provisional number in 2015 for the crops production consisting of rice, corn and soybeans has run into decrease due to the derivation in harvested area.
Based on the provisional number in 2015, rice production in West Java reached 11,373,234 tons of dry unhusked rice (GKG) or it's equivalent of 7,135,567 tons of rice, which was decreased of 2.33 percent compared to 2014. The derivation of rice production in 2015 due to the decrease in harvested area of 6.17 percent, while productivity increased by 4.08 percent.
It thus revealed in a press conference that was held by BPS West Java and led by Head of BPS, Bachdi Ruswana, on Tuesday (1/2) at his office, Jl. PHH Mustopa Bandung.
For the corns production which based on the provisional number in 2015 reached of 959 933 tons of dry seed. This achievement was decreased by 8.32% compared to 2014. The derivation in 2015 was more due to a decreased in harvested area of 11.29%. However, the productivity increased by 3.34%.
While for the soybean production in West Java reached 98,938 tons of dry beans, which was decreased 14.16 percent compared to 2014. The derivation in 2015 was due to a decreased in harvested area of 14.16 percent. While for the productivity was increased of 0.87 percent.
