BANDUNG-Flight service from West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati, Majalengka Regency will increase. This is in line with the operation of the airline Lion Air in mid-August 2018.
Main Director of PT BIJB Virda Dimas Ekaputra said, Lion Air has proposed flight service for two routes, namely Denpasar to Kertajati and Surabaya to Kertajati and vice versa. The two routes are quite high potential market demand. Each of these routes is served with a Boeing 737 type aircraft.
"The Lion Company has prepared a fleet for each route, which is Boeing 737 type aircraft which has a capacity of about 165 people," said Virda in Bandung, July 27, 2018.
Lion Air, the airline with the red lion logo, has submitted a flight schedule to PT BIJB. Virda said, Denpasar to Kertajati is scheduled to take off at 10.30 WITA and arrive 11.10 WIB. "Denpasar Kertajati Flight is estimated an hour and a half," he added. As for the opposite, namely Kertajati to Denpasar depart at 15.50 WIB and arrive at 18.30 WITA.
As for the flight from Kertajati to Surabaya plane fly at 11.50 pm and arrived at 13:10 pm. For the reverse route, from Surabaya to Kertajati the plane will serve the departure at 13.50 WIB and arrive at 15:10 pm.
The presence of airline Lion Air to serve flights from Kertajati Airport is the second. Previously, the airline from Garuda Indonesia subsidiary that Citilink had already done extra flight in Lebaran 2018 season, and continued regular flight since July 1 everyday with route of Kertajati Airport to Juanda Airport Surabaya and vice versa.
According to Virda the demand for regular flights to and from Kertajati is quite positive since it was inaugurated in May 2018. For example, occupancy seat Citilink Airlines for daily flights above 60 percent. "Demand from this market is more that goes to Kertajati from Surabaya than Kertajati to Surabaya .. Chairs seat from Surabaya is always more than 100 passengers," he explained.
Virda added, catchment area of ??majority passengers come from Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka, Kuningan and Subang. With the presence of Lion Air of course he believes the distribution of Kertajati Airport passengers will be more extensive. "For example, residents of Brebes and Tegal, we believe they will use Kertajati Airport," he added.
The presence of Lion Air, according to Virda, makes the list of routes to and from Kertajati Airport more attractive. The presence of these airlines can also be prepared to open international aviation services. This is considering in October 2018 Kertajati Airport also plans to fly pilgrims to Umrah service.
"Because Lion Air and some airlines from outside parties are ready to perform Umrah flight service this year," he said. (Pun)
