BANDUNG-Polda Jabar (The regional of West Java Police) secures three suspects of trafficking in persons. One of them is a foreign citizen.
West Java Police Chief Insp. Gen. Pol Agung Budi Maryoto said for the actions of three suspects imposed on article 2 or 4, 6 or article 10 and article 11 of RI Law no 21 of 2007 on the eradication of juncto criminal trafficking Article 88 of Law 35 of 2014 on child protection with the threat of 15 years in prison.
"The suspect can be imprisoned for 15 years," he told reporters at West Java Police Headquarters on Thursday (26/07/2018)
The disclosure of a person's trafficking case stems from an incoming report on 6 July. From the results of police investigation to secure three suspects namely YH aka AAN, GC, and TDD alias vivi.
"There was one victim who escape and report to one of Police resort (Polres) in West Java, then we follow-up," he said
West Java Police Chief revealed that the mode is GC who is a native of China came to Indonesia by using tourist visa, he worked with YH and TDD to recruit women to be sold. In carrying out its actions the suspects approached the victim's parents by promising decent work in China.
"Two Indonesians came to the villages looking for victims and the parents of the victims were given Rp 10 million," he said.
The victim who successfully recruited, then dispatched to China, after previously housed in Green Hills Jakarta apartment during the suspects doing document management. But after the departure, the victims were married to the Chinese.
"After arriving there (China), married contract for three months, but the realization is not that long, it was sold again to the other party and the victim is not paid so can not go home," he explained.
Agung said the disclosure stems from a victim who managed to escape while in Green Hills Apartments. The victim ran away because the victim got information of her friend who was already in China. if they were not employed as promised but married to the residents there.
"The escaped victim reported, then we followed up and managed to rescue six victims in Green Hills apartment," he concluded (Pun)
