Two New Economic Growth Centers Will Be Present in West Java

BANDUNG-West Java will soon have two new economic growth centers in West Java, namely in the area of ??West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati in Majalengka and tourist areas in Sukabumi.

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) RI Budi Karya Sumadi said the new growth area in East West Java will also be supported by infrastructure in the form of a large port in Patimban, Subang Regency. This port, said the Minister of Transportation, will be greater than the Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta.

"Hopefully there (Kertajati and Subang) will be a new growth where so far the logistics transportation to Jakarta has stalled," said Minister of Transportation when met after being speaker in 16th National Dialogue "Indonesia Maju" which was held in Balai Asri Pusdai Jabar , Jalan Diponegoro, Bandung City, Wednesday (7/18/18).

"This (new economic growth center in West Java) becomes an alternative and it becomes a growth center to make Subang, Karawang, Indramayu, Cirebon, Majalengka become an industry growth center extraordinary," he continued.

"Kertajati has been operating and even can be Umrah and Hajj from there, and (Port) Patimban will be next year. So, this can be a new force for West Java," said the Minister of Transportation.

Another central area of ??new economic growth is in Sukabumi. The Minister of Transportation revealed that the Sukabumi area will be developed into a tourist destination area. Especially now it has been established Geopark Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu into a geesy network of Unesco world.

Sukabumi tourism area will be supported connectivity through Toll Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi), Airport development in Cikembar, as well as double track railway track.

"We know Sukabumi as a tourism area, there is a very good geopark," said the Minister of Transportation.

"We want to build Sukabumi as a tourist destination, so during this (journey) six hours from Jakarta (to Sukabumi) we expect one and a half hours, even by plane can be 30 minutes," he explained.

For this reason, the Minister of Transportation hopes that the people can participate in building this center for economic growth. "We jointly develop or use, eg Patimban as a logistics area, we develop in West Java industry so that it can provide support for Patimban and provide prosperity for the people of West Java," he explained.

Furthermore, the Minister of Transportation stated that so far the progress of Cikembar Airport in Sukabumi has reached the final stage of land acquisition. So even with the project Port of Patimban, which is expected early August 2018 can be done groundbreaking.

Meanwhile, in the 16th National Dialogue "Indonesia Forward", Acting West Java Governor H. Mochamad Iriawan presented a number of national strategic projects in West Java.

Some programs that Iriawan convey, such as Smart Card Indonesia program and Healthy Indonesia Card that has been running in West Java. There is also a Family Hope Program (PKH) for poverty reduction.

"In the field of land such as Mr. President (Jokowi), there is a land certification program for the people," said Iriawan in his presentation.

For the construction of physical infrastructure, there is the construction of an Unworthy House (Rutilahu). In addition, the progress of a number of large projects that were part of the national strategic project was also conveyed by Iriawan on this occasion. Like the construction of West Java International Airport (BIJB) in Majalengka which was inaugurated by President Jokowi, Nusawiru Airport in Pangandaran, Cikembar Airport in Sukabumi, Patimban Port, Bocimi Toll, Cisumdawu Toll, Kuningan Dam, Ciawi Dam, Sukamahi Dam, and Citarum River through Citarum Harum program.

According to Iriawan, every development process must be informed to the community. So that the public can find out the extent to which the development has been and will run in its area.

"Of course we know how the development runs maximally but if not told or submitted to the community of course people will not know," said Iriawan.

The Central Government and the West Java Provincial Government continue to boost infrastructure development. Besides being the largest population, it is hoped that through various developments in this national strategic project, West Java's productivity will increase.

"So far (West Java) did not get an opportunity to get infrastructure. So the President assigned us to build this West Java, so as to be able to provide better productivity," the Minister added.
