    Unpad Held Asian Traditional Sports Parade and Traditional Sport Olympiad


    BANDUNG-Universitas Padjadjaran initiated the 2018 Asian Games Pre-Event event which will be held in Bandung on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 07.00-17.00 WIB at Iwa Koesoemasoemantri Campus, Padjadjaran University Jalan Dipati Ukur No. 35 Bandung.

    The event which is one of a series of Asian Games 2018 event is packed in the form of Cultural Parade and Traditional Sports Exhibition from 46 countries participating in the Asian Games is the theme of "The Power of Asian Tradition from Legend Land" and will be integrated with Traditional Sport Olympiad in the framework of University Dies Natalis The 61st Conference.

    There will be representatives of embassies of ASIA countries (46 countries participating in Asian Games 2018), Asian Foreign Students, Padjadjaran University Students, and the general public as participants.

    The event, which will be opened by Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia Imam Nahrawi, as well as as a gate of celebration, promotion and socialization of the 2018 Asian Games this year held in Indonesia, the event also aims to introduce Culture through traditional Indonesian sports especially and Asian countries in general, as well as a concrete form of preservation of Culture and Tradition that Indonesia has in particular and Asian countries in general.

    Public Relations Unpad Ade Kadarusman said, the form of activities to be implemented is divided into two large series. The first series of Cultural Parade from 46 countries participating in the Asian Games, in the form of a leisurely stroll from representatives of countries participating in the Asian Games 2018. The leisurely walk starts from Unpad Campus Jalan Dipati Ukur No. 35 to Jalan Ir. H. Juanda (Dago) and Jalan Dayang Sumbi-Cikapayang (Pasupati Bridge) and back to Campus Unpad Jalan Dipati Ukur No. 35.

    "There will be cultural exhibitions and traditional sports that are characteristic of each country participating in the Asian Games 2018," he said on Wednesday (4/7).

    In 2018, Indonesia is entrusted to host Asia's biggest sporting event, which in this case will be held in Jakarta and Palembang. The Asian Games is a multi-sport competition attended by Asian athletes held every 4 (four) years in Asia by the Organization Council of Asian / OCA.

    To date there are 45 countries that are members of OCA. The sports bikes competed in the Asian Games follow the Olympics, with swimming and athletics as a core sport, coupled with a distinctive sport that reflects the culture of each region in Asia, such as Sepak takraw (Southeast Asia), Kabad in (South Asia) Wushu (East Asia) and so forth.
