PT KAI Ban Community Doing "Ngabuburit" on the Railways

BANDUNG- As a form of anticipation of accidents, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) prohibits people from making railroads as a place to wait for the break fasting (ngabuburit) which is now widely seen in some railway points. Thus stated the Public Relations Manager of PT KAI (Persero) Regional Operation 2 Bandung, Joni Martinus

"In accordance with Law 23 of 2007 on Railways, the railway line is a line consisting of a series of railroad tracks covering railway space benefits, railway-owned spaces and railway monitoring rooms, including the top and bottom of which are reserved for the past cross-train, "he said.

According to Joni, with the characteristics of such a special line, the railway line can not be utilized indiscriminately because it concerns the safety of rail travel and if there is any activity of the public on the rail will be very dangerous according to Article 181 paragraph (1) of Law 23 of 2007 on Railways.

"In article 181, everyone is prohibited from being in the railway benefit room: dragging, moving, laid, or moving goods on a rail or across a railway line, or using a railway for other purposes, in addition to rail transport, "said Joni, in his office on Sunday (05/27/18).

Joni states if there is a violation of Article 181 paragraph (1) it will get a criminal punishment of a maximum of 3 (three) months or a maximum fine of Rp. 15,000,000 (fifteen million rupiah) as stated in Article 199 of Law 23 of 2007.

"We urge the community to help maintain the safety of train travel and also provide understanding or reprimand if there are people who play or do activities on the railway," he said. (Parno)
