    Deddy Mizwar Invites Chinese Citizens to Succeed PON XIX/2016


    BANDUNG-In the Cap Goh Meh celebration of Chinese New Year 2567, West Java Vice Governor as the Vice Chairman of PB PON XIX and Peparnas XV 2016 Deddy Mizwar invited all Chinese society, especially in West Java to support the success of quadrennial sports events PON and Peparnas.

    At the Chinese New Year celebration which organised by the Society of the Chinese-Indonesian Social Association (PSMTI) West Java, with the theme “PSMTI West Java Celebrates Chinese New Year in Success of Jabar Kahiji" at Taman Budaya Dago Tea House, Jl. Bukit Dago Utara No. 53, Bandung on Monday night (22/2). Deddy said, it is time for each citizen of West Java to contribute in making history to become the general champion of PON XIX/2016 in West Java.

    "It is time the citizens of West Java to make history because it has been 51 years where West Java never became the general champion of PON,” Deddy said in his speech.

    On that occasion, Deddy also greatly appreciate the effort of PSMTI, both individuals and organisations that have helped in the dissemination of PON XIX and Peparnas XV/2016 in West Java.

    Deddy said the Chinese New Year celebration has a special meaning, where it’s always identical with the Lion Dance, Lantern, and Kue Keranjang. It has a deeper meaning relate to the value diversity of art and culture presented by the Chinese community.

    "It is one example of the diversity that is built for a long time ago," said Deddy.

    "Culture of Indonesia's Chinese community can evolve and become part of Indonesian culture. I think it needs to be more developed, so that it can increase the tolerance between Indonesian society,” said Deddy.

    These event was also attended by Member of West Java Parliament Popong Otje Djunjunan and Nico Siahaan, Member of Bandung Parliament, the Head of OPD in the West Java provincial government, representatives PSMTI Centre, PSMTI West Java, Chairman of the Pasundan Society, Kadin West Java, as well as other invited guests.
